Ed Kiel is one of the most successful and longest tenured head coach in the school's history, beginning his coaching career in 1988.
PSU-WB competes in The Pennsylvania State University Athletics Conference (PSUAC) and The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). During his 28 seasons, his teams have won 7 conference titles, and finished 2nd, 3rd, and 5th in the USCAA National Championship Tournament. PSU-WB has also won 5 prestigious President Cup titles.
PSU Wilkes Barre's individual golfers have won 3 state titles and there is currently a total of 119 golfers that have been named All Conference or All-State. PSU-WB golfers also preform well academically with over 144 being named Academic All-Conference, and 10 golfers named Academic All-Americans. His athletes have gone into various professions, including golf professionals, doctors and lawyers.
Coach Keil has also conducted youth golf summer camps and ladies golf clinics for many years. An accomplished golfer himself, he is a golf course superintendent with over 25 years as a Class A member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America. He is a US Air Force veteran, who graduated in engineering from Penn State Wilkes-Barre, he resides in Hanover Township with his wife, Gina.
