Our Penn State Wilkes-Barre Men's Basketball team has started out the season in tremendous fashion. To start off the season, the team still remains undefeated at 3-0. What's most impressive is that they are averaging 98.7 points per game. They are looking like a strong team entering this tournament, but it will really show us where we stand.
Team leaders Shakur Jackson, Devaughn Roberts, Tomir Gibbs, and Levaugn Soules really need to keep up the intensisty in this upcoming tournament. First off, we need to make sure our Point Guard, Shakur Jackson controls the game. He needs to be able to keep control of this high paced offense. Devaughn Roberts and Levaugn Soules both started off the season strong. Devaughn Roberts is averaging 11.3 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists per game. First year player Levaugn Soules has impacted the team in a very positive way, averaging 14.7 points, 12 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game. Tomir Gibbs, even though he comes off the bench, is leading the team in points and steals per game averaging 19.3 points per game along with 9 steals in 3 games.
Our Head Coach Leshawn Hammet is looking forward to see what his team can do in this tournment, and is hoping for a tournament win and to remain undefeated. He states: "It's not that only 5 players that can be starters. My whole team can be starters. I just put the people on the floor that can play well together. My team is full of talent, that's what makes us so dangerous."
The Lycoming Tournament starts this Friday November 16th, as we are matched up against Lycoming College at 6 PM. Please come out and support you Lions!
